KINGFISHERS from SUNDARBAN WEST (Satkhira, Khulna, Bangladesh)

Name: Black-Caped Kingfisher (Halcyon pileata), this birds are mostly found around Northern part of Bangladesh. These are winter visitor, and seen in almost all canal surrounding Sundarban (Mangrove Forest).Breeds during April-July.

Name: Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis), this one found at every-corner of Bangladesh. All wetlands, canals, river, pond, protected areas and mangrove forests support this Kingfishers. Breeds during November-June.
The first one taken from the bank of river Kholpotua on 31st December 2010, and the second one (small fish in Kingfisher's bill)  taken from river Chuna on 30th December 2010.  
 Name: BROWN-WINGED KINGFISHER (Halcyon amauroptera), locally known as Thormochra or Ranga Machranga, found all around the whole Sundarban (There are three wildlife sanctuary). Mostly seen on the bank of canal and river like other kingfishers. Breeds during March-June. Photo taken from the bank of river Malancho on 30th December 2010.
Name: COLLARED KINGFISHER (Todiramphus chloris) locally known as Akashi Machranga, found around the coast. Mangrove forest, Three Wildlife Sanctuary of Sundarban, all protected areas supports this Kingfishers. Breeds during April-August.
