Common Redshank (Tringa totanus)

Redshank is a very common widespread bird around the globe. Redshanks breed in appropriate habitat in Europe and across central Asia into western China. It is very noisy and seems to act as a sentinel for other wader species.
Redshanks usually build their nest in any wetland, from damp meadows to salt marsh, often at high densities. They lay 3-5 eggs.
Size: 28 cm    Food: insects, spiders, worms, molluscs
